The first and only application round for the 2026 Aparaaditehas Culture Platform is now open

The first and only application round for the Aparaaditehas Culture Platform for 2026 is now open. The Aparaaditehas Culture Platform will begin its seventh season in 2026, inviting young creative people to implement fresh, bold and unique cultural projects. Over the six years of its operation, 36 very diverse events and creative projects have been implemented within the framework of the cultural platform, and nearly 100 young creators have gained momentum. Creative cooperation with many of them has continued even after the end of their projects.
In 2026, we will open one application round instead of the usual two, to leave more time for the thoughtful development and implementation of ideas that require longer preparation, and, if necessary, to find additional funding.

As a result of the application round, 6 projects will be selected and will be implemented at Aparaaditehas within a year.

We do not place any restrictions on genres, forms, or the duration or volume of projects. The cultural platform has previously hosted intimate concerts as well as large festivals, produced short films and dance performances, and participated both individually and with large groups. We welcome all kinds of ideas – both calm and crazy – that would enrich the cultural life of Aparaaditehas and Tartu.

A special call to party organizers!

One of the six selected projects will be a party or a series of parties. We want to bring fresh energy and new ideas to Tartu's nightlife and encourage everyone who dreams of organizing a unique and cool party, but has so far lacked the opportunities or resources to apply.
The event(s) will take place at Armastuse saal.

Aparaaditehas offers the following for the implementation of a cultural project:
  • €1000 to cover production costs
  • €500 scholarship
  • Free use of facilities, including:
    • multifunctional Armastuse saal
    • Taskupark
    • various areas of Aparaaditehas that can be used, for example, as exhibition space (corridors, Sofa Office, courtyard white greenhouse, etc.) (this does not include galleries operating independently in Aparaaditehas, e.g. Kogo, KETT and TYPA center galleries)
  • Existing sound and presentation equipment (NB! Aparaaditehas does not have lighting equipment – a list of sound equipment can be found on the application form)
  • Advice and guidance in organizing events
  • Advertising and visibility on Aparaaditehas channels
  • Mediation of cooperation opportunities between cultural organizers and creative people working at Aparaaditehas

The 2026 events of the Open Culture Platform are planned to take place from April to December 2026. The exact time of the event will be agreed upon in cooperation with the organizer and Aparaaditehas.

Applications are open from January 15 to February 15, 2026.
