NÄITUS // "Kogu päeva hommikusöök" Heta Jäälinoja ja Äggie Pak Yee Lee näitus
28. mail kell 18.00 avame Aparaaditehase Rõdugaleriis Heta Jäälinoja ja Äggie Pak Yee Lee näituse "Kogu päeva hommikusöök".
"Kogu päeva hommikusöök" on kahe animakunstniku Heta Jäälinoja ja Äggie Pak Yee Lee ühisnäitus. See on kahe kuu TYPA residentuuris viibimise tulemus.
Näituse teema on inspireeritud Rõdugalerii keskkonnast: allkorrusel oleva restorani helidest ja lõhnadest.
Kõik ei pruugi olla ootuspärane, kui hommikusöök on valmistatud tindist ja paberist. Kartul hüppab, salaami on kahtlaselt roosa, ettekandja kukub ümber ja lauda on leidnud tee ka paar ahvi. Graafika trükkimisel ja toiduvalmistamisel on aga mõningaid sarnasusi. Mõnikord ka vaatamata rangele retsepti jälgimisele pole tulemus hea ning sa isegi ei tea, miks. Mõned neist ebaõnnestumistest on uhkusega väljas ka näitusel. Lõppude lõpuks on see lihtsalt tint või maha läinud tomatikaste.

Heta Jäälinoja (s.1989, Soome) on animatsiooni õppinud Turu Kunstiakadeemias ja Eesti Kunstiakadeemias. Tema animeeritud lühifilmid on võitnud mitmeid auhindu festivalidel üle maailma, sealhulgas France TV auhinna ja Annecys 2023 publikuauhinna filmiga "Nun or Never!". Alates 2016. aastast on ta õpetanud animatsioonitudengeid Soomes, Eestis ja Rootsis. Hetale meeldivad romantilised komöödiad ja soolane lagritsajäätis.
Äggie Pak Yee Lee (s. 1989, Briti Hongkong) on animatsioonikunstnik. Ta õppis Hongkongis ja on lõpetanud Eesti Kunstiakadeemia. Peamiselt töötab ta joonistuste, trükiste ja liikuvate piltidega. Tema filme on valitud ja auhinnatud festivalidel üle maailma. Tema teosed ammutavad inspiratsiooni elus leiduvate objektide potentsiaali vaatlemisest ning audiovisuaalsete suhete voolu vahel veeremisest - väikese rumaluse ja melanhoolia varjundiga. Praegu õpib ta süüa tegema ja oma ahvijalgadega mänguväljakut rajama.

On the 28th of May at 6PM we're opening Heta Jäälinoja and Äggie Pak Yee Lee's exhibition "ALL-Day Breakfast" in Aparaaditehas Balcony Gallery.
"ALL-Day Breakfast" is a joint exhibition by two animation artists, Heta Jäälinoja and Äggie Pak Yee Lee. It's a result of spending two months in TYPA Printmaking residency.
The theme of the exhibition is built around the atmosphere of the Balcony Gallery: the sounds and the smells of the restaurant below.
When the breakfast is made from ink and paper, not everything might be as expected. The potato is jumping, the salami is suspiciously pink, the waitress is falling and a couple of monkeys has found their way to the table. However, printmaking and cooking have some similarities. Sometimes no matter how strictly you follow the recipe, the result is not good and you don't know why. Some of these failures are proudly presented in the exhibition. In the end, it's just ink, or spilled tomato sauce.

Heta Jäälinoja (b.1989, Finland) studied animation at Turku Arts Academy and Estonian Academy of Arts. Her animated short films have won multiple awards in festivals around the world, including France TV award and Audience Award in Annecy 2023 for “Nun or Never!”. Starting from 2016, she’s been teaching animation students in Finland, Estonia and Sweden. Heta likes romantic comedies and salty liquorice ice cream.
Äggie Pak Yee Lee (b. 1989, British Hong Kong) is an animation artist. She studied in Hong Kong and graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts. She mainly works with drawings, prints and moving images. Some of her films have been selected and awarded in festivals worldwide. Her works usually drew inspiration from observing the potential of objects found in life and rolling in between the flow of audio-visual relationship with tint of stupidity and melancholy. Currently, she is learning how to cook and build her playground with her monkey feet.
Exhibition is open 28.05.2024 - 07.07.2024, Wed-Sun from 12.00 to 18.00.
Entrance from door no. 7 from Aparaaditehas' courtyard. It's located right above Aparaat restaurant.
Visiting Balcony Gallery is free for all.
