Kogo Gallery showroom
Aparaaditehas, Tartu
5 December 2025 at 18.00–20.00
The event is in English

Kogo Gallery’s new season of art club events begins with a series of practical lectures From Zero to Art Collector, covering topics such as investing in artworks, selecting, preserving, insuring, and understanding the rights related to art. We invite professionals from various fields to explain the background, share their know-how and offer useful advice to help you feel more confident when collecting art.
In the December lecture, the collection managers of Estonia’s two largest art museums will come to Kogo Gallery to tell about how museums make their collecting decisions. In the previous lecture, we talked about what kind of art is worth investing in according to a gallerist, an art collector and the head of LHV’s investor community. This time, we’ll explore how art museums make those choices. Do they mainly acquire works by artists who have participated in museum exhibitions? Do they prefer works by old masters? What role does the medium play?
The guests are
Brigita Reinert, Head of Contemporary Art Collection at the Art Museum of Estonia
Kadri Mägi, Keeper of Prints & Drawings Collection at Tartu Art Museum
The discussion will be moderated by Šelda Puķīte, Curator and Head of International Projects at Kogo Gallery.
The event will be held in English.
