EXHIBITION // Illustrations by Anna Ryazanova for the book "Blueberry and The Wild Run"

The exhibition "Mustikas ja maruline jooks" (Blueberry and the Wild Run) showcasing the book illustrations of Ukrainian artist Anna Ryazanova can be seen at the R Gallery, located in the Karud ja Pojad studio store at Tartu's Aparaaditehas. The exhibition opens on Saturday, March 18, at 12:00.

The watercolor paintings for Marge Pärnits' children's book "Mustikas ja maruline jooks" were created in the spring and summer of 2022, and the story was published in book form at the end of the same year. For the artist who moved from Kharkiv to Tartu a year ago, creating pictures for Blueberry's story was her first experience illustrating a children's book.

"While making illustrations for Blueberry's stories, I remembered how much I have always loved watercolor," says Anna Ryazanova about the works in the exhibition, and this love really shines through in every picture.

Anna Ryazanova was born, raised, and educated in Ukraine. She graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, and her earlier main work was related to various wall paintings, frescoes, interior design, and 3D visualization.

The exhibition can be viewed at the R Gallery until May 6. The gallery is located in the courtyard of the Aparaaditehas studio store Karud ja Pojad, at Kastani 42. The gallery is open from Wednesday to Friday from 12:00 to 18:00, and on Saturdays from 12:00 to 16:00.
