EXHIBITION // Feet down. A collaborative exhibition between Pallas' textile department and furniture department

Feet down. Design project exhibition of the Pallas School of Art's furniture department and textile department at TYPA Gallery 29.01.2026-08.02.2026

From January 29 to February 8, TYPA Gallery will offer a chance to see familiar chair legs from the last century in a new way, the designs were created in collaboration with the Pallas School of Art's Textile Department and Furniture Department. Six dignified chairs, 22 metal legs and four unique solutions. As part of the annual collaboration project at the Pallas School of Art, third-year students from the Textile Department and the Furniture Department have put their heads together to find a new function for neglected chairs. In their process, the students explored how to make the old new while respecting the original design. With a zero-budget goal, found materials, natural objects and production waste were used to create the furniture pieces. You can hear more about how all these limitations affected the design process and what discoveries were made during the work during the exhibition tour on February 5 at 5 pm. The following artists will participate in the exhibition: Emily Dobrus, Leena Isabel Pizzolante, Mari Saffre, Grete Sallo, Annabel Seen, Evelin Lidmets, Trine Ots, Johanna Tuisk, Darja Zaboronok and Tiina Zukker. The collaborative project was supervised by Madis Liplap and Aet Ollisaar.

The gallery is open Wed-Sun 12:00-18:00 and the exhibition is free for all visitors. https://typa.ee/typa-galerii/
