LECTURE // "How are things going?"

Lecture / How does it work?
Public programme of Krista Dzudzilo's exhibition "All the possibilities have been".

In this lecture, Evelyn Tuul, teacher of the Tartu Ashtanga Yoga School, will introduce the different dimensions of walking and illustrate them with the experience of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The lecture will thus also open up the background of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, but at the same time everyone will be able to draw parallels with their own personal practice, be it running, music, dancing, painting, chess or mountain climbing. These are activities that will bring enjoyable experiences to the participants.

Through the experience of walking, we can organise our consciousness and experience great pleasure. In this lecture, we will reverse the notion that walking is something easy. In reality, it is often the physical or mental effort that is required and cannot be achieved without skill.

The lecture is based on Evelyn's Master thesis in Religious Studies, "A study of the experience of Ashtanga-vinyasa yoga practice following traditional teachings". Supervisors Roland Karo, Phd and Erki Lind, Phd.

The lecture will be held in Estonian, participation is free of charge. Approximately 45 minutes are allotted for the lecture, after which there will be time for questions and discussion, and of course to view and experience Krista Dzudzilo's exhibition.

📍 Latvian visual artist Krista Dzudzilo's solo exhibition "All Been Possibilities", created in collaboration with the Riga-based contemporary art centre Kim?, is currently open at Kogo Gallery. The charcoal drawings, video and installation in the exhibition seek to show how observation can be transformed into a conscious experience.
